On Monday, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and his family departed Ottawa for a two-week vacation in Costa Rica.

Footage has emerged of the group disembarking at San Jose airport without a mask in sight.

In the clip, Trudeau and his entourage reconvene on the tarmac after exiting their Royal Canadian Air Force plane. Among them, not a single person is wearing a mask.

At one point, one member of the party believed to be Trudeau's daughter sneezes twice without properly covering her face.

The clip quickly went viral, with people slamming the prime minister for his hypocrisy given the fact that masks are still mandatory for flights in Canada.

"Masks are for Canadian peasants not for him," one Twitter user wrote, also calling Trudeau out for using a private jet despite constantly lecturing Canadians on their environmental impact.

"The entitlement of Trudeau and his family is un-f*cking-real," another user wrote, pointing out that "meanwhile, moms in Canada are thrown off planes because their kid won't mask up."

Some argued that perhaps they had been wearing masks inside the plane, but took them off upon exiting, however in the video a woman can be seen stepping directly out of the aircraft with no face covering.

According to the government of Canada, passengers are required by law to wear masks in the airport, and during their flights. There is currently no end date in sight for the mandate, however pushback is mounting given that most other sectors have done away with such policies.

The Trudeaus' lack of masks is not the only point of controversy regarding their trip. Many wonder just how much it will cost taxpayers.

As Global News reports, the last time the Trudeaus flew to Costa Rica in 2019, air transport alone cost Canadians nearly $60,000.

Reaction to the trip from Canadians has been mixed.

"Good," one Reddit user said. "He needs a couple weeks to grow into that haircut."

"The guy sucks as a PM but everyone ought to be allowed to take their allocated vacation time," another added. "Enjoy the trip and I hope you lose your job soon."
