Blood is "on everybody's hands, from the administration down to local officials."
According to the organization's website, the documentary “...tells the heartbreaking story of Maria Alvarez and her 7-year-old granddaughter Emilia Tambunga, who were killed in Texas when a human smuggler smashed into their car. The driver was an American citizen working for a Mexican cartel that recruited him on TikTok.”
The conservative think tank added, “Unfortunately, this devastating story is one of many that show the deadly consequences of this administration’s refusal to secure the border and the growing power of criminal gangs in the United States.”
The short film describes how the smuggler, 22-year-old Rassian Natery Comer, was attempting to evade police in Texas last March while carrying 11 illegal immigrants in his vehicle when he slammed into Amvarez’s car. Two of the illegal immigrants were also killed in the crash.
In the documentary, Emilia's mother said, "There's no other way to sugar coat — my 7-year-old was murdered, my mom was murdered because of our border crisis." She added that the surviving illegal immigrants in Comer's vehicle were "just let go."
Emilia's grandfather stated in the documentary, "Every day is a painful day for me. I'm waking up to an empty house. Emilia was my little partner and I haven't thrown nothing away. I've got it all in her room… I've been sleeping there lately in her bunk bed. I haven't had the courage to sleep in my wife's — our bed."
Elisa added that the blood of her daughter and mother is "on everybody's hands, from the administration down to local officials, from President Biden, to [DHS Secretary Alejandro] Mayorkas, to our senators, to our governors, all of them."
"Everybody has the ability to create change in those offices, and they're using it as a political playground instead.”
According to the foundation, around 3.4 million illegal immigrants, more than the population of 20 states, have been allowed in the US or evaded authorities under the Biden administration. It also noted that "Fentanyl, the vast majority of which comes in through the southern border, is now the leading cause of death for Americans aged 18–45. "
