Donald Trump Jr. slammed Joe Biden on Friday, calling out the hypocrisy in targeting Chinese-owned app TikTok while the "Bidens got over $1 million from some supposed Chinese business ventures." According to the former First Son, there would be "wall-to-wall coverage claiming corruption" if the Trump family was accused of similar shady dealings.
"Biden is getting smoked by China everywhere that matters, and now we find out that Hunter Biden, Hallie Biden and no-telling-what-other Bidens got over $1 million from some supposed Chinese business ventures," Trump Jr. told Fox News. "So, his handlers are like, 'We've got to come up with a way to seem like we’re tough on China. Oh, we've got it, sir. There's an app where kids record dances; we should ban it.'"
The son of former President Donald Trump says he is "all for making sure China isn't influencing Americans and stealing our data," and that the government should "go hardcore on the TikTok regulations," but he "can't take Biden seriously when they're not even going to address the same issues with all the other social media apps that let data flow through China."
"It's a fake tough guy act," he added.
Recent reports that the Biden administration has been weighing the banning of TikTok, owned by Chinese Communist Party-controlled ByteDance, have been criticized due to Biden's unwillingness to allow Trump's plan to do just that go through.
The Republican former president attempted to ban the social media app in 2020, but was blocked by the courts. In 2020, under pressure from then-President Trump, ByteDance attempted to make a deal with Walmart and Oracle Corp to shift TikTok's US assets into a new entity, but it failed. Another deal with Microsoft also proved unsuccessful.
Soon after Biden took office in 2021, he tossed out Trump's plan to ban the app.
According to Fox, the House Oversight Committee found that "at least three [Biden] family members" received payments from the bank account of Rob Walker, a close business associate of Hunter Biden, just weeks after he was the recipient of a $3 million wire transfer from Chinese energy company State Energy HK Limited.
"Imagine if we tried to pull something like this," Trump Jr. told the publication. "It'd be wall-to-wall coverage claiming corruption."
"Meanwhile, they're getting millions funneled to them, and they're holding back '10 percent for the big guy' here and there, but the rest of the media couldn't be bothered," he continued. "'Nothing to see here folks.'"
The congressional committee, led by Rep. James Comer, found that Hallie Biden, the former wife of President Biden's late son Beau Biden and ex-affair partner of his other son Hunter, received $25,000 from Walker's account in March 2017.
Another bank account — which was identified as belonging to an unspecified member of the Biden family — received another $70,000 from Robinson Walker, LLC between March and May 2017.
One of Hunter's accounts, "Owasco P.C.," also got a whopping $500,000 between March and May of that year. One of his other accounts, "First Clearing, LLC" also received $100,000. Joe Biden's brother, James Biden, also received a staggering $360,000 in the same time period.
