A Turning Point USA screening of Matt Walsh's documentary "What Is a Woman?" has been removed from the platform Eventbrite for allegedly promoting hate, according to a report in the Daily Wire.

A field representative for TPUSA shared a screenshot of the email from Eventbrite on Twitter which attempts to give the reason for its removal.

"We encourage our organizers to express their views and gather for a chosen purpose as long as it's done in a way that doesn't violate our Legal Terms. We do not permit events, content, or creators that promote or encourage hate, violence, or harassment towards others and/or oneself."

The documentary features Matt Walsh traveling from place to place asking people of all walks of life the question: "What is a woman?"

According to Eventbrite, this content "expresses views that are in violation of [their] Community Guidelines and Terms of Service and is therefore not permitted on the Eventbrite platform."

In the community guidelines section of their website, Eventbrite boasts of being "a platform that values diverse opinions and a vibrant community" and states that they "are committed to providing a safe, inclusive, and respectful platform."

Users of the service are warned not to hateful content or events, including:

"Hate speech, hateful ideologies, and hateful activities that incite, encourage or engage in violence, intimidation, disparagement, harassment, or threats targeting an individual or group based on their actual or perceived race, ethnicity, religion, national origin, immigration status, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, age, or veteran status."

The show will go ahead despite its removal from the event management platform.

@wku_tpusa tweeted: "Eventbrite removed our event to watch @MattWalshBlog 'What is a Woman.' The event will still be happening. Show up and let's show Eventbrite that their censorship will not stop us. It's next Tuesday, September 13, 6pm in DSU 2123."

Matt Walsh had this to say about the decision:

"Interesting that @eventbrite bills itself as a 'global platfor' and promises to 'allow anyone to create, share, find and attend events that fuel their passions,' and yet bans screening events for one of the biggest documentaries of the year."
