A man in Janesville, Wisconsin was charged with first-degree intentional homicide after confessing that he shot and killed his girlfriend because she told him she was pregnant and wanted to keep the baby.

According to police, 23-year-old Logan Barclay shot 22-year-old Kiersten Hansen, his on-again, off-again girlfriend. The pair have an 8-month-old child together, who is in the custody of Barclay’s parents.

Barclay told police he got angry after Hansen said she might be pregnant again with his child and wouldn’t abort the pregnancy. Barclay eventually confessed to killing Hansen after lying to law enforcement many times about where he was the night she went missing.

Barclay told police that he and Hansen were walking in a local park and she was talking about the pregnancy “...no matter how many times I told her to stop, she wouldn’t. And I broke. I snapped. Screamed at her, and took it out and said ‘stop following me, stop talking about it, please.'”

According to court documents obtained by ABC 27, Barclay then shot her with a .22-caliber handgun and walked away.

Hansen’s body was found by two women walking on a trail. Barclay was given a $1 million cash bond.
