Country singer John Rich commended the bravery of the young North Carolina college students who prevented the American flag from being desecrated during a pro-Palestinian demonstration on campus.

Because of their outstanding deeds, the famous country musician is working with UNC-Chapel Hill to stage an enormous concert on campus that would be free of charge to students, Fox News reports.

The concert, dubbed "Flagstock," would feature additional notable musicians in what Rich intends to be "one of the biggest events of the year."

This comes after viral photos and footage surfaced on X of a group of college boys saving the American flag from falling to the ground as pro-Palestinian agitators attempted to remove it from the flagpole.

The patriotic moment captured Rich's attention. He told Fox News: "I was so impressed that, first of all, someone had taught them … that you never let the American flag touch the ground, under any circumstances."

"Somebody raised these guys correctly. They understand what's going on," he added.

"I think that when people, especially young people, have enough guts and determination to proclaim their love for the country and show their respect for the flag — when it's an inconvenient moment, when it's a tough moment to do it — they deserve to be recognized for that," said Rich. "And I'm hoping that when we recognize them in such a huge way, I hope it ignites that same passion all across the country."

The young patriotic men not only garnered attention from the country singer, but the group received overwhelming praise for their "heroic" actions from millions of people on social media.

Before long, a GoFundMe was set up to reward the students for their actions with a party. The fundraiser, titled, "Pi Kappa Phi Men Defended Their Flag. Throw 'em a Rager," raised $516,672 in donations, with the GoFundMe for donations being closed at midnight on Friday.
