On Monday, Fetterman returned to the Capitol after being at Walter Reed Medical Center for 60 days receiving treatment for depression. Fetterman was also hospitalized in early February after "feeling lightheaded" during a Democrat retreat, and was checked for possible symptoms of seizures. He was treated at George Washington University Hospital in Washington, DC, and was later released.
Fetterman checked himself into the DC medical center on February 16, with Fetterman’s office at the time stating that "while John has experienced depression off and on throughout his life, it only became severe in recent weeks."
Following a stroke suffered while on the campaign trail in 2022, it was revealed that the Pennsylvania senator hears the voices of those talking to him like those from the "Peanuts" cartoons, and that the lawmaker uses closed-captioning devices to display what is being said to him so he can read along.
