"I have to actually put in a lot more work and it's very difficult."
Carmen Carrera, a trans-identified male, made the assertion on the Moguls of Media Podcast in May 2023, however, the episode only recently began to go viral across social media recently.
Carrera said on the podcast that it's much harder for trans-identified males to compete against biological women on the claim that they have lower testosterone levels.
"Being a trans athlete, you know, male to female trans athlete...there's no advantage there. Like it's actually much harder because my testosterone levels are much less than the average like cis woman. So, I have to actually put in a lot more work and it's very difficult," said Carrera.
The claims were made after trans-identified males have dominated in women's sports in many categories in past years. This includes swimming, track and field, surfing, cycling, boxing, and more.
Users on X were quick to weigh in on Carrera's previous claim.
"Do you know how stupid someone would have to be to believe that you could take Lebron James, put a wig and a skirt on him, and lower his testosterone for 6 months to make him the physical equivalent of WNBA players? But, libs still keep insisting it's true," said one user on X.
"Huh? We’ve seen professional female athletes lose to high school male athletes," another added.
"If there was a gaslighting awards ceremony, I’m sure this guy would be nominated," wrote another user on X.
