1 dead in Memphis drive by shooting, police search for suspect

On Saturday, Memphis Police responded to a shooting in the 3800 block of East Shelby Drive where they found one person dead.

The Memphis Police Department said, "Officers located a victim with an apparent gunshot wound." It added, "The victim was pronounced deceased on the scene. This is an ongoing investigation.



In a press release, Memphis police believe the incident was a carjacking, where a blue Nissan Maxima was taken, and the suspect went on to conduct two more shootings. One on the 3500 block of Pilot Drive, where no one was injured. The second was on in the 3500 block of Commerce Circle where two females were shot, one of whom is in critical condition.



Authorities describe the suspect as "a Black Male, wearing all black clothing, a black ski mask and purple shoes." They believe he is driving a 2016 white Dodge Charger with Tennessee license plate number BPT-4410.

Police ask anyone who sees the vehicle to call 911 immediately, and anyone with more information related to these incidents to call CrimeStoppers at 901-528-2274 (CASH) with tips.
