A 12-year-old boy has been caught by police driving his family’s SUV on the Queen Elizabeth Way late last night, according to CP24.

The joyride started at the family home in Rexdale, near Islington Avenue and Albion Road, and ended near the Hurontario Street exit of the QEW, all the way in Mississauga.

The minor and the family vehicle went missing at the same time from the family’s Rexdale home.

At the same time, Toronto Metropolitan Police started receiving multiple calls regarding a burgundy SUV being driven very erratically. They alerted the OPP and the search was on.

The calls continued and the police followed. They eventually caught up with the errant SUV and the child driving it. They managed to get the child to safely stop the vehicle.

Nobody was injured and no damages were caused.
