13 people injured at mass shooting in Illinois

Police say that a total of 13 people were injured during a shooting that broke out on Sunday in Peoria, Illinois.

Police say that a total of 13 people were injured during a shooting that broke out on Sunday in Peoria, Illinois, according to Global News.

It is estimated that around 200 people had congregated along Northeast Water Street when a number of gunshots were heard, Lt. Jared said, according to TIME.

Ginglen added several people were shot in their extremities, while two were shot in the neck. TIME reported that all those who were injured during the incident are expected to live.

Six of the victims were men and the remaining seven were women.

The crime scene runs along the Illinois River and is a common gathering place for groups within the community.

Though no suspects have been taken into custody, investigators are looking into "at least one person of interest," TIME reported.
