An 82-year-old woman is threatening to sue after being banned from a local YMCA for speaking out against a biological man in the women’s locker room.

According to a report by the Daily Wire, Julie Jaman is asking for an apology from the City of Port Townsend and a local YMCA after being banned from the Mountain View Pool in 2022.

Jaman said that she was showering in the women's locker room when she observed a biological male wearing female attire seemingly watching two young girls preparing to use the facilities. The 82-year-old approached the individual, later identified as “Clementine Adams,” and asked, “Do you have a penis?” Adams replied, “None of your business.”

After the altercation in the women’s locker room, Jaman reported the incident to the staff, who told her that her language was “discriminatory.”

“I was showering in the women’s dressing room when I saw a man wearing a woman’s swimsuit watching little girls undress. I was obligated to speak up and ask for help,” Jaman said to The Daily Wire. "Since that moment, I have suffered mob-like attacks, public humiliation, and widespread mendacious reporting. If this had been the 17th century, I would have been burned at the stake. I have been active in this community for 40 years, and my hope is that my credibility is restored.”

The Center for American Liberty, representing Jaman, explains that Jaman was banned from the facility. The group’s CEO, Harmeet Dhillon, claims that both the city and the YMCA have made defamatory statements regarding Jaman.

"Since her banishment, the City, in concert with the YMCA, has engaged in a high-profile smear campaign that has caused her severe emotional distress and has painted her in a false light within the community,”  Dhillon said.

Jaman also stated that after the incident at the pool occurred, she went to the police station to file a report. However, the police department seemingly favored the YMCA and the trans-identifying individual, investigating the YMCA’s accusations toward Jaman instead.

“When an 80-year-old woman reasonably believes she is witnessing a crime against minors in a women’s showering area, the government’s reaction should be to gather all of the facts and learn what happened, not take sides in an ideologically charged debate,” the letter obtained by the Daily Wire further states. “The City and the YMCA plainly have strong feelings regarding the presence of transgender individuals in private areas. So strong, in fact, that they support allowing adult biological males watch young girls while they undress in the Pool locker room.”

In response to these developments, Dhillon demanded in her letter that Jaman's ban be rescinded, with both the city and the YMCA issuing a formal apology and providing financial compensation. Failure to comply with these demands could potentially result in legal action.
