“This is what 21st century fascism is starting to look like. Republicans really model themselves after [Victor] Orban’s Hungary, so you can really look to see how Orban runs Hungary to get a taste of how they will try to govern and control media and companies in the United States."
New York Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez once again warned that fascism is right around the corner during an Instagram Live, where she told supporters that we are "in the eve of an authoritarian administration.”
“This is what 21st-century fascism is starting to look like. Republicans really model themselves after [Victor] Orban’s Hungary, so you can really look to see how Orban runs Hungary to get a taste of how they will try to govern and control media and companies in the United States. This is kind of an entree to that."
She then began speaking about social media platforms and where progressives can organize, recommending platforms like X-alternate BlueSky. “As far as what we do, you know, this is a time of experimentation. A lot of people will still use platform, can still use platforms, but I also look towards places where you have more ownership as well and develop your audiences there, Bluesky, you own your audience there.”
AOC has cried wolf regarding fascism in the United States. For years, the New York representative has slung mud at GOP politicians and those with right-wing politics, including tech billionaire Elon Musk, who she told to "lay off the proto-fascism" during an exchange on X.
"You're a public figure. An extremely controversial and powerful one. I get feeling unsafe, but descending into abuse of power + erratically banning journalists only increases the intensity around you," she said in a quote tweet to the X (then-Twitter) owner. "Take a beat and lay off the proto-fascism. Maybe try putting down your phone," she added.
Earlier this year, AOC lashed out at an unnamed “senior House Democrat” following the assassination attempt on Donald Trump in Butler, Pennsylvania.
"We've all resigned ourselves to a second Trump presidency," Ocasio-Cortez said, "If you're a 'senior Democrat' that feels this way, you should absolutely retire and make space for true leadership that refuses to resign themselves to fascism."
In 2022, AOC said that the US faces an “environment of fascism” ahead of the midterms.
"It brings us back and harkens back to a very unique form of American apartheid that is not that long past ago," she added. "And we have never fully healed from it and those wounds threaten to rip right back open if we do not strongly defend democracy in the United States of America,” she said.
She also called the Republican parents’ rights bill “fascist” during a speech on the House floor. That bill aimed to give parents more control over what is taught to their children in the classroom.

Sounds like she is on the 28th day of her cycle. Someone must have lit her tampon string.
