Biden visits Pennsylvania fire station, gets surrounded by Trump-supporting kids, puts on MAGA hat

"At the Shanksville Fire Station, [Biden] spoke about the country's bipartisan unity after 9/11 and said we needed to get back to that. As a gesture, he gave a hat to a Trump supporter who then said that in the same spirit, POTUS should put on his Trump cap. He briefly wore it."

President Joe Biden was seen wearing a Trump 2024 hat on Wednesday as he visited a Shanksville, Pennsylvania fire station to commemorate the 23rd anniversary of 9/11.

A photo of Biden donning the hat was posted to X by Trump War Room with the caption, "Thanks for the support, Joe!" In response, White House Senior Deputy Press Secretary Andrew Bates wrote, "At the Shanksville Fire Station, [Biden] spoke about the country's bipartisan unity after 9/11 and said we needed to get back to that. As a gesture, he gave a hat to a Trump supporter who then said that in the same spirit, POTUS should put on his Trump cap. He briefly wore it."

In a group photo taken during the visit, Biden was seen posing with kids wearing Trump 2024 and "Save America" shirts.

Biden's visit to the fire station came after he, as well as Trump and Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris, attended a ceremony in New York City on Wednesday morning to commemorate the anniversary of the attacks, in which nearly 3,000 people were killed. Supporters there were heard shouting their support for Trump.

The visit follows Tuesday night's debate between Trump and Harris, the first presidential debate since Joe Biden dropped out of the race after facing pressure from his own party to do so in the wake of the first presidential debate in June.
