Biden's HHS Secretary considering 'abortion tents' on federal lands

"You have people who are right now in need of abortion care services. So we're gonna do what we can to give people something as quickly as we can," Becerra said.

US Secretary of Health and Human Services Xavier Becerra didn't rule out abortion tents on federal land when Chuck Todd asked him on Sunday's Meet the Press about the controversial proposition.

"I think we're continuing to explore everything that's out there," Becerra told Todd in reference to the idea pushed by New York Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren.

While Becerra did say all ideas can't immediately go into practice he did say "We want to make sure we're providing everything we can."

In response to the Supreme Court overturning Roe v. Wade several Democrats came forward with the suggestions to reappropriate federal land like parks and landmarks for abortion services.

"I’ll start with the babiest of the babiest of the baby steps. Open abortion clinics on federal lands in red states right now," AOC cried out during a protest right after the ruling. A few days later Senator Warren suggested the Biden administration should open Planned Parenthood "outposts" on the edges of national parks.

"You have people who are right now in need of abortion care services. So we're gonna do what we can to give people something as quickly as we can," Becerra said, committing to the Biden administration pro-abortion platform.

Vice President Harris recently said that the Biden admin may provide travel vouchers for women seeking out-of-state abortions as something else the federal government can do to help promote abortion.

Biden's has described abortion as a "fundamental" right that he is hoping to codify as legislation. Biden's abortion stance appears to be a child can be aborted until the moment of birth.

Despite his clarity on abortion, in June of last year Becerra was unable to define the term "birthing person" in a budget proposal.
