"They begged for that beat down! I am grateful for the whole story."
"They begged for that beat down!" Parks wrote in a comment on the video, from one of her two Facebook profiles. "I am grateful for the whole story."
That "whole story" is that two men, a young black man and an older white man, were engaged in a minor altercation prior to the mob violence.
The video shows the white man who was involved in the earlier altercation being set upon by a violent mob of people while over 100 stand around watching the attack and filming it on their phones. After the man is beaten, a white woman is targeted as she tries to help him. She was knocked unconscious and blood can be seen trickling from her mouth.
Parks has been on the City Council since January 2022 and prior to that was Commissioner Todd Portune's Chief of Staff from 2016-2019. Her bio states that she has been working on "expand[ing] opportunities for under-served communities" and has "led the charge in passing Racism as a Public Health Crisis."
Parks has said that a way to "improve public safety" is to "provide for people's general welfare." She supports city-run housing, food programs and jobs programs.

Five people have been charged, and three arrested, after the video of a street fight showing a mob beating a white couple on the streets of Cincinnati went viral. The incident, in the overnight hours on Friday, July 26, gained national attention due to the mob violence and the lack of police presence.
Mayoral candidate Cory Bowman remarked on the "Actual social media comments made by a sitting member of Cincinnati City Council …"
Cincinnati's police chief said that out of 100 witnesses, only one person called 911. Bowman posted on Facebook saying that "The Chief stated 'Only one 911 call was reported at 3:06am.' This is a BOLD FACED LIE. I have a screenshot of an individual who called at 3:03am and said 'The dispatcher was rude and dismissive.'"

In speaking about the incident, Vice President and Ohio native JD Vance said he "saw a mob of violent thugs beating up on an innocent person and it's disgusting." He called on all of those involved to be prosecuted.
"You had a grown man who sucker punched a middle-aged woman," he said.
"That person ought to go to jail for a very long time—and frankly, he's lucky there weren't some better people around because they would've handled it themselves."
Parks is not seeking reelection after her current term. "Upon completion of this term, I will retire and hang out with my grandchildren and nieces and nephews," Parks said in January.
"I look forward to picking up kids from football practice and piano lessons, volunteering on boards and spending my money on plane tickets. I have worked since the age of 14 and at the end of the year, I will reap the benefits of my work life."

This was a beat down, no doubt about it, and it was multiple people attacking one guy. Unwarranted violence from the Left.
