For Biden, Wilmington is a symbol of his "family's values."
Perhaps that studio will make a fresh appearance during his bid for a second term in the White House. For Biden, Wilmington, where he has also spent a substantial portion of his presidency, is a symbol of his "family's values."
His son Hunter Biden is a notorious drug addict who is currently facing tax charges. He is also the subject of a House Oversight Committee hearing during which IRS whistleblowers alleged that the younger Biden should have faced felony charges but was let off easy because of the family's influence in Washington, and the likelihood of a looming Biden presidency.
"My family’s values, my eternal optimism and my unwavering belief in the American middle class as our nation’s backbone comes from my home — from Delaware. That's why there is no better place for our reelection campaign to have its headquarters."
Biden's Wilmington home is one of several places where seemingly discarded boxes of classified documents were found, including in his garage by his Corvette. Many, many boxes of classified documents have been found in offices and locations connected to Biden, and these were documents he absconded with prior to being president.
There are documents from his lengthy time in the Senate as well as from when he was vice president. His administration is currently prosecuting President Donald Trump for holding documents, though no questions have been raised about Biden's document infractions.
Biden, who spent much of the pandemic masked, socially distanced, and hunkered down in his basement, had planned to run his 2020 campaign from Philadelphia. However, his team built a studio for him out of the way of prying eyes so that he could conduct interviews and lead a campaign from the comfort of his own home.
It was from his basement studio in Wilmington that Biden also made some of his first remarks as president-elect, saying that he was "Ready to lead the world, not retreat from it. Ready to confront our adversaries, not reject our allies. And ready to stand up for our values." All this from the comfort of his own home.
