Update: Police reopened the border crossing to traffic entering the US from Canada amid an investigation into possible explosives deemed an "isolated incident."

Windsor police said upon secondary inspection of a vehicle, the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) alerted law enforcement of possible explosives on the bridge complex. The Windsor Star is reporting that "one person is in police custody after possible explosives found near the bridge forced an evacuation and a halt to some cross-border traffic Monday."

No direct threats were made to places or people in connection with the possible explosives, per the Toronto Star.

The CBSA said it continues to work closely with emergency officials in Canada and the US to monitor the ongoing situation while minimizing traffic disruptions.

Affected vehicles remain rerouted to the Windsor-Detroit Tunnel and the Blue Water Bridge in Sarnia, Ontario.
