On Monday Texas Congressman Ronny Jackson made a statement via his Twitter page, sharing that constituents of his were trapped in Kabul.
Jackson served in the US navy for 29 years and now serves as the congressman for Texas' 13th Congressional District. He filmed the video at the US capitol and demanded that Pelosi reconvene congress and get them information about the US citizens that are trapped in Kabul.
"We are in an intense national security crisis right now overseas. Congress needs to be involved in what is happening," Jackson said. "I have US citizens from my district that are stuck in Kabul right now. They have tried numerous times to make it through the checkpoints and get to the gate. They have been at the airport and the US State Department has done absolutely nothing to help them."
"They went this last time at 5am this morning, Kabul time, to try one last time to get out. The 15-year-old son was beaten and the mother had a gun put to her head. The Taliban told her that they did not care who she was and that they did not care about her passport and that if she came back, they would kill her," Jackson said.
Jackson said that this situation makes his blood boil and he demanded that Pelosi do something about the crisis now. "We have to put this to a stop. We have to do something about this crisis, and we have to do it now."
As the US launches airstrikes against ISIS-K, US citizens continue to try to escape Kabul with the remaining US troops before the August 31 deadline. The Taliban has set up checkpoints near the Hamid Karzai International Airport and are not letting anyone through.
TheBlaze TV network founder, Glenn Beck, has fundraised over $30m dollars to help rescue Christians trapped in Afghanistan. Through his fundraising efforts, The Nazarine Fund has been able to privately evacuate 5,100 Christians, women, and US citizens out of Kabul and take take then to an undisclosed country, waiting settlement.
