A three-judge panel on Wednesday ruled to halt the bulk of President Donald Trump’s global tariffs, including those he announced during his “Liberation Day” speech on April 2.

The US Court of International Trade issued an injunction against the tariffs that Trump had imposed using emergency economic powers. The court’s decision also blocks enforcement of tariffs that targeted China, Mexico, and Canada earlier this year as part of the administration’s effort to curb the flow of drugs, particularly fentanyl, into the US.

The injunction stops Trump’s 30 percent tariffs on Chinese goods, 25 percent tariffs on select imports from Mexico and Canada, and a 10 percent universal tariff on most goods entering the country, according to CNN

The ruling came in response to a lawsuit filed in April by the Liberty Justice Center, a libertarian legal group. The organization represented wine importer VOS Selections and four small businesses that claimed they were financially harmed by the tariffs.
