DeSantis, who came in third in the Iowa primary, was rumored to be looking for an off-ramp from the campaign earlier on Sunday.
NBC stated that DeSantis would head to New Hampshire from South Carolina on Sunday. The decision to not appear on these prominent programs has led to speculation that he may be nearing the end of his presidential race.
A report from The New York Times on Sunday suggested that DeSantis was looking for a way to get out of the 2024 presidential race, where his performance has been lackluster and his campaign has been heavily criticised.
"After a humbling loss in Iowa, Gov. Ron DeSantis of Florida is starting to signal that he is building an off-ramp from the race for the Republican presidential nomination, a seeming acknowledgment of his dim prospects of defeating Donald J. Trump given his low poll numbers in New Hampshire and South Carolina," the Times stated.
DeSantis finished 30 points behind Trump in Iowa, and came in second. Nikki Haley took the third place spot. After the Iowa contest, Haley stated her belief that the race was down to two, herself and Trump.
This is a breaking story and will be udpated.
