Major General Dany Fortin, the man in charge of Canada's COVID vaccine distribution, suddenly stepped down from his post Friday night.

Major General Dany Fortin, the man in charge of Canada's COVID vaccine distribution suddenly stepped down from his post Friday night.

The Canadian Armed released a brief statement, confirming that Fortin was under military investigation.

"Today, Major-General Dany Fortin has left his assignment with the Public Health Agency of Canada, pending the results of a military investigation," a statement read.

"Acting Chief of the Defence Staff, Lieutenant-General Eyre will be reviewing next steps with Major-General Fortin. We will have no further comment."

Fortin was previously chief of staff at the Canadian Joint Operations Command.

It is unknown what the nature of the investigation is.
