The New York City Police Department is reportedly planning to revoke 2024 presumptive GOP nominee Donald Trump’s concealed carry license. Trump’s license had been suspended on April 1, 2023 following the indictment in the falsified business records case, a senior police official revealed to CNN.

Two of the three pistols Trump was licensed to carry were turned in on March 31 to the NYPD, while a third firearm was "lawfully moved to Florida," the official added.

Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon is a federal crime. Trump was found guilty on May 30 of 34 felony counts of falsifying business records, raised to the felony level from the usual misdemeanor level by DA Alvin Bragg. Trump could be in violation of state and federal law if he still possesses the firearm that is in Florida.

The senior police official said that the NYPD’s Legal Bureau will complete its investigation "that will likely lead to revocation of his license."
