BREAKING: Perez Hilton's children FLED from home as he began cutting himself on livestream

A new statement from the family of celebrity blogger Perez Hilton has revealed that his children, niece, and sister had been at the home in the moments leading up to Tuesday night’s incident when he began harming himself on a livestream, and that they fled the home when he began cutting himself. 

“The events of the past several days have been nearly unbearable for our family,” the statement read. “Just minutes before the public livestream incident, Perez’s children, niece, and sister were inside the home. When it became clear that Perez was experiencing a severe mental health crisis and harming himself, they immediately fled to protect the children from witnessing any further trauma.”

The statement added, “Our highest priority right now is helping the children begin to heal from what they experienced. An important part of that process is allowing them to safely return home and begin rebuilding a sense of security and normalcy.”

The Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office had previously said that Hilton was home alone when authorities responded to the residence. On Tuesday night, authorities responded to Hilton's residence after multiple reports of a suicide attempt. Hilton was seen on a TikTok livestream bloodied, cutting himself repeatedly with a knife. 

Hilton was taken to a local hospital, where he was placed on a psychiatric hold under the Baker Act. His family said in an earlier statement that he is communicating, "which has given our family hope." A source close to the situation told Fox News that Hilton had “wounds and cuts all over the place.” The source said, “He’s alive. He has superficial cuts all over the body.”
