Former President Donald Trump is demanding that President Joe Biden issue an apology for declaring this upcoming Easter Sunday as "Trans Day of Visibility."

In a report from Breitbart, Trump spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt stated, “It is appalling and insulting that Joe Biden’s White House prohibited children from submitting religious egg designs for their Easter Art Event, and declared Easter Sunday as ‘Trans Day of Visibility.'"

"Sadly, these are just two more examples of the Biden Administration’s years-long assault on the Christian faith. We call on Joe Biden’s failing campaign and White House to issue an apology to the millions of Catholics and Christians across America who believe tomorrow is for one celebration only — the resurrection of Jesus Christ," she added.

The statement comes after the White House issued a proclamation on March 29 for the declared “Trans Day of Visibility.”

The news release from Biden stated, “By virtue of the authority vested in [him] by the Constitution and the laws of the United States, do hereby proclaim March 31, 2024, as Transgender Day of Visibility."

As is customary with proclamations from the White House, the release also added, "In witness whereof, I have hereunto set my hand this twenty-ninth day of March, in the year of our Lord two thousand twenty-four, and of the Independence of the United States of America the two hundred and forty-eighth.”

In contrast to Biden’s proclamation, Trump released a video in celebration of Easter.

"On Easter Sunday, we proclaim with joy, 'Christ is Risen!'" the former president said.

In addition to the proclamation, the Biden White House has prohibited any religiously themed imagery at the White House’s Easter egg artwork contest.

The White House laid out the restrictions saying, "The Submission must not include any questionable content, religious symbols, overtly religious themes, or partisan political statements."
