Kaiser Permanente in Santa Rosa has decided to reinstate its requirement for masks at its facilities due to a rise in the number of COVID-19 positive cases among patients over the past three weeks. This rule applies to all individuals using their facilities, including patients, visitors, and staff members. Kaiser Permanente, which is the primary healthcare provider in Sonoma County, is taking this step as the media appears to be pushing the narrative that mask mandates and lockdowns are returning nationwide.

Local outlet KSRO was the first to break the news.

Earlier this week, Morris Brown College in Atlanta reintroduced a mask mandate for both students and staff while on campus, just a week after the commencement of classes.

The Atlanta-based private institution conveyed this new mask mandate through an official communication on Sunday, addressed to faculty, staff, and students. As part of a comprehensive set of COVID-19 safety measures, including the mask requirement, these protocols will remain in effect for a span of two weeks. The rationale for this decision is attributed to “reports of positive cases among students in the Atlanta University Center,” a cluster of HBCUs.

Also, California-based film studio Lionsgate has reimplemented a mask mandate for some employees at its Santa Monica flagship office after several employees tested positive for Covid.

According to Deadline, Lionsgate/Starz Response Manager Sommer McElroy sent an email to staff announcing that masks would be mandatory for the 3rd and 5th floors of its five-story building.
