Representative Lauren Boebert (R-CO) won the state's primary election on Tuesday, defeating Republican state Senator Don Coram.
Despite being a main target of congressional Democrats, Boebert's win pushes her one step closer to serving Colorado's 3rd Congressional District for a second term.
Former President Donald Trump gave Rep. Lauren Boebert his endorsement, calling her a "fearless leader" shortly after she announced her reelection campaign.
"Congresswoman Lauren Boebert has done a fantastic job in her first term representing Colorado’s Third District," Trump said in a statement. "She is a fearless leader, a defender of the America First Agenda, and a fighter against the Loser RINOs and Radical Democrats. She will continue to be tough on Crime, strong on Borders, and always protect our under-siege Second Amendment. Lauren has my Complete and Total Endorsement for her reelection!"
The win comes after a major Democrat PAC attempted to assassinate her character to sway the election results.
The American Muckrakers PAC, co-founded by former Democratic North Carolina state Senate candidate David Wheeler, published false accusations that Rep. Boebert was a paid escort before resuming office. They also claimed that she met Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) during that time, and that he urged her to run for office.
Boebert called the allegations "Fake News," and later described them to FOX News as "blatantly false and disgusting."
The American Muckracker PAC has been behind multiple Republican smear campaigns, most notably Madison Cawthorn, whose re-election was successfully derailed via a series of leaked videos.
Unlike Cawthorn, Boebert came out victorious against the smears and joined other Trump-endorsed candidates in victory.
