BREAKING: RNC's headquarters in DC on lockdown, hazmat team on scene

A large police presence was seen outside the Capitol Hill building on Monday morning, with a Hazmat team at the scene.

The Republican National Committee’s headquarters in Washington, DC went into lockdown Monday morning, with a large police presence being seen outside the Capitol Hill building.

Sources at the scene told NBC News correspondent Dasha Burns that a hazmat team is on site.

Three sources revealed to NBC News that vials of blood were sent to the RNC.

According to Fox 5, US Capitol Police responded to the headquarters at around 7:45 am for reports of a suspicious package. The package was found to have contained two vials of blood.
