Vice presidential nominee Tim Walz has agreed to participate in a debate against his Republican counterpart, JD Vance. Walz has agreed to a debate that would be hosted by CBS News and take place on October 1 in New York City.

While Walz has confirmed his participation, the Trump campaign has not yet officially agreed on the date. CBS News had proposed several potential dates for the event, including September 17, September 24, October 1, and October 8, with Walz ultimately agreeing to the October 1 date.

Following the announcement, Walz took to X to share the news, posting, “See you on October 1, JD."

Trump stated last week that CBS News would host a vice presidential debate next month. He also said that Vance had "really stepped up" and has been doing "a fantastic job."
