Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced on Friday that Pfizer will be delivering an additional 1.5 million vaccine doses by the end of March.

The announcement came during Friday's press conference on the heels of Health Canada's announcement that it had approved the Johnson & Johnson vaccine for use.

Trudeau said that Pfizer would also be shipping an extra one million doses in both April and May, meaning Canada would have received 8 million doses of vaccine by the end of March.

Procurement Minister Anita Anand told reporters that Canada could expect 8 million doses by the end of march, for a grand total of 36.5 million doses by the end of June. By September, Canada is expected to have procured 118 million vaccine doses.
