Columbia University, in the City of New York, cancelled their commencement on Monday, citing concerns over the ongoing Gaza camp protests on campus. Speaking outside the courtroom in New York, Trump said "that shouldn't happen." Those camps, the protesters, and the outside agitators have been funded by Joe Biden's major donors, Trump said.

This was revealed over the weekend in an article from Politico, which found that the major financial backers of the protests are also major donors to President Joe Biden's campaign, as well as to other Democrat causes and campaigns.

Two of the key groups funding campus protests are Jewish Voices for Peace and IfNotNow, both of which are backed by the Tides Foundation and George Soros.

The NYPD will be on campus through May 17, per a request from school president Minouche Safik. While commencement ceremonies for individual colleges within the university will proceed, the university-wide commencement will not go forward.

"Our students emphasized that these smaller-scale, school-based celebrations are most meaningful to them and their families. They are eager to cross the stage to applause and family pride and hear from their school’s invited guest speakers," the school said in a statement.

"As a result, we will focus our resources on those school ceremonies and on keeping them safe, respectful, and running smoothly. A great deal of effort is already underway to reach that goal, and we understand the Deans and school teams are looking forward to working with their students to incorporate the most creative and meaningful ideas to celebrate this extraordinary moment."

The Gaza camp protest saw many arrested, with the majority of those not actually being students, but outside agitators. Activists occupied the Hamilton Hall administration building and were pushed out by the NYPD, who was requested by university administrators.
