BREAKING: Trump pleads 'not guilty' to Georgia charges, waives arraignment

On Thursday, Donald Trump pleaded "not guilty" to the charges brought against him by Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis in Georgia.

The former president also opted to waive his arraignment.



"I understand I have the right to appear personally at my arraignment, and that I have the right to have the Indictment read to me in open court," Trump wrote to Judge Scott McAfee of the Superior Court of Fulton County.

"I have discussed the charges in the Indictment and this Waiver of Appearance at Arraignment with my attorney Steven H. Sadow, and I fully understand the nature of the offenses charged and my right to appear at arraignment."

"Understanding my rights, I do hereby freely and voluntarily waive my right to be present at my arraignment on the Indictment and my right to have it read to me in open court."

Trump and his associates were charged with violating the Georgia RICO Act, solicitation of violation of oath by a public officer, false statements and writings, impersonating a public officer, conspiracy to commit impersonating a public officer, forgery in the first degree, conspiracy to commit forgery in the first degree, conspiracy to commit false statements and writings, criminal attempt to commit filing false documents, conspiracy to commit filing false documents, criminal attempt to commit influencing witnesses, influencing witnesses, conspiracy to commit election fraud, conspiracy to commit computer theft, conspiracy to commit computer trespass, conspiracy to commit computer invasion of privacy, conspiracy to defraud the state, and perjury.
