Speaking at his rally in Conway, Texas, former President Donald Trump voiced his support for the Canadian truckers’ "Freedom Convoy" protesting Trudeau’s COVID-19 vaccine mandates on Saturday.
Referring to the increasingly tired lockdowns, mask and vaccine mandates imposed upon American citizens and citizens worldwide, Trump first commended his team for coming up with “Operation Warp Speed,” which hastened the development of COVID-19 vaccines but said that it is now past time for governments to move past pandemic-era restrictions.
Citing the public’s fatigue with such draconian measures, Trump brought up the Canadian truckers, whom he commended for standing up against the Trudeau government’s tyranny in Canada.
“The Canadian truckers, you’ve been reading about it. Who are resisting bravely these lawless mandates are doing more to defend American freedom than our own leaders by far, and we want those great Canadian truckers to know that we are with them all the way."
“They are really showing something,” he said.
In addition to praising the Freedom Convoy, Trump urged incoming Republicans who are expected to take over Congress in the upcoming midterms to reinstate the U.S. service members who had their jobs terminated by the Biden administration’s mandates for all branches of the U.S. military over their refusal to take the COVID-19 vaccine.
Over 3,000 U.S. Army service members were served with reprimands earlier this week, and hundreds of U.S. Marines, Navy and Air Force service members were discharged over their refusal to get the jab.
