BREAKING: Trump says AG Bondi should release files of credible Epstein information

President Donald Trump was asked again about the Epstein files, which his Department of Justice promised to release and then declined to release after saying that there was no client list, as has been alleged, and that most of the video files were child pornography. AG Pam Bondi has said she doesn't want to release the information in part to protect the victims.

"Mr President," a reporter asked as the air hummed with the vibrations of Marine One's whirring propellers, "your daughter-in-law said that there should be transparency in the Epstein case. Do you agree with her?"

The reporter was speaking about comments made by Lara Trump, commentator and former RNC chair, who said that she believes Trump "hears all the noise" about the upsetness surrounding the lack of a release of Epstein files, and that he "will set things right."

"The Attorney General has handled that very well," Trump said on Tuesday. "She's really done a very good job. And I think that when you look at it, you'll understand that I would like to see that also. But I think the Attorney General, the credibility is very important. And you want credible evidence for something like that, and I think the Attorney General has handled it very well."

Another reporter asked about his having been briefed "on the review of the files."

"A very quick briefing," Trump said.

"What did she tell you about the review and specifically did she tell you that your name appeared in the file?"

"She's given us just a very quick briefing," Trump said, "and in terms of the credibility of the different things that they've seen, and I would say that, you know, these files were made up by Comey, they were made up by Obama, they were made up by Biden. You know, we went through years of that, with the Russia, Russia, Russia hoax, with all of the different things that we had to go through, we've gone through years of it. But she's handled it very well, and it's going to be up to her whatever she thinks is credible she should release."

Lara Trump gave an interview to Benny Johnson on Monday, saying: "I do think that there needs to be more transparency on this and I think that will happen. I don't know what truly exists there, but I know that this is something that's important to the president as well. He does want transparency on all these fronts. Everything we're talking about, because it's frustrated him as well. He sat for four years like the rest of us did and saw lie after lie and saw the country being set down the wrong path."
