Donald Trump held a press conference in Bedminster, NJ on Thursday during which he slammed his opponent Kamala Harris for her recent promises to get things done on "day one" when she is already the vice president and has been for more than three years.

"Kamala has been promising, ‘On day one, I'll do this.' And for basically four years, she's promised 'this' day one," a reporter asked. "What will you do on day one to turn this country around?"

"So, she is saying, ‘When she gets in,’” Trump answered. "She's in now. And especially with Biden, because, I mean, he's not in the best of shape. But you know what, she is in there now. She can do anything she wants. And she's still saying, 'If you elect me, I'll do this.'"

"Why didn't she do it? Here's my one question to her, it's the easiest question .... Why didn't she do it?" Trump said. Trump took questions from reporters for 40 minutes while Harris has yet to do a long form interview with the press after being the nominee for 25 days.

Harris has made several promises in recent rallies, such as getting tough on the border at an event in Las Vegas, as well as well as fighting "for a future where we build a broad-based economy, where every American has an opportunity to own a home, to start a business, and to build wealth." Harris was tasked by Joe Biden to deal with the border and the "root causes of migration" in March 2021. She met once with the president of Guatemala.

Trump listed off numerous figures that indicate that the Biden-Harris economy has been a concern for many people, including record credit card debt in America.

"Here is the record of economic calamity that Kamala is desperate for voters to ignore. She cast a tie breaking votes that caused record inflation," Trump said at the beginning of the presser, and added that the average American household is paying $1,100 extra a month for expenses.
