The statement follows a similar declaration from last week.
"Any and all Documents, Proclamations, Executive Orders, Memorandums, or Contracts, signed by Order of the now infamous and unauthorized 'AUTOPEN,' within the Administration of Joseph R. Biden Jr., are hereby null, void, and of no further force or effect," Trump said. "Anyone receiving 'Pardons,' 'Commutations,' or any other Legal Document so signed, please be advised that said Document has been fully and completely terminated, and is of no Legal effect. Thank you for your attention to this matter!"
The president issued a similar statement last week. President Trump said in a prior Truth Social post, “Any document signed by Sleepy Joe Biden with the Autopen, which was approximately 92% of them, is hereby terminated, and of no further force or effect. The Autopen is not allowed to be used if approval is not specifically given by the President of the United States." The autopen has been the subject of controversy for Trump since he took office. His method of signing important documents is typically on camera.
Trump later added that he was "cancelling all Executive Orders, and anything else that was not directly signed by Crooked Joe Biden." In the Tuesday statement, Trump added the term "unauthorized" when discussing the orders he intended to void. The autopen is used widely in different legislative and other offices in Washington, DC. However, to use one, staffers as well as others who sign documents with the autopen on behalf of lawmakers must be authorized to do so.
Questions have been raised as to whether or not White House staffers under Biden obtained authorization for every document signed using the autopen, from letters to executive orders to pardons. Many documents were signed with the autopen on Biden's behalf while he served in the Oval Office.
