The Village People, performers of one of Donald Trump's rally favorite tunes "YMCA," will be performing at Turning Point's Inaugural-Eve Ball on Sunday night in Washington, DC. The song that was iconic prior to Trump's rally revival of it has become a mainstay of campaign events throughout the 2024 election season.

President-elect Donald Trump is well-known for his YMCA dance which has been imitated by many and shared across social media. The Inaugural-Eve Ball is one of many events across DC next weekend to celebrate the coming Trump presidency.

In December, the Village People said they would be open to performing YMCA for Trump. Victor Willis had said that if the group was asked for perform for Trump he would have to "seriously consider" it. While the group had previously said they'd prefer that the candidate not use their songs during his rallies, Willis reversed that posture, saying "I decided to allow the president-elect's continued use of ‘YMCA.’ because he seems to genuinely, genuinely like the song and so many other artists were stopping him from using their music."

"So I decided to contact BMI [Broadcast Music, Inc.] and told them not to terminate his political use license because he seemed to be bringing so much joy to the American people with his use of YMCA," Willis added.

The Turning Point ball will also host Vice President-elect JD Vance, Donald Trump Jr., FBI head nominee Kash Patel, DNI nominee Tulsi Gabbard, podcaster Megyn Kelly, The Blaze founder Glenn Beck, Stephen Miller, and others.
