BREAKING: WNBA player DiJonai Carrington BRUTALLY attacks Sophie Cunningham on court, gets ejected, cries 'White Privilege'

During a WNBA basketball game over the weekend, Chicago Sky G DiJonai Carrington committed a flagrant foul against Sophie Cunningham as the Indiana Fever player was about to make a basket.

After the call was made by the referees, Carrington was ejected from the game and proceeded to post "White Privilege" to social media, tagging the Indiana Fever.

Carrington was seen on video whacking Cunningham in the face when she went up for a layup. Cunningham hit the floor, and then chaos ensued after the play was stopped.  

After the play Cunningham was seen bloodied from the foul. 

Teammates gathered around where the foul took place, and as Cunningham was pulled away, she could be seen yelling at Carrington, "Why the f*ck did you do that?" 

The bucket counted and Cunningham also added a free throw on top of that. The foul was upgraded to a flagrant 2 once it was reviewed after the play.  

Cunningham said in response to the incident, "Clearly, I think it was like unnecessary. I've never really spoken to her and have no beef with her, but I guess she has some pent up stuff. So get your shit off. That's fine. I can take it."

"Yeah, it's intentional. She wasn't even on the team. She has no reason to be doing any of that. So, good way to get her kicked out," Cunningham added. 

She then told reporters, "I do think when people play the Fever, we're nationally televised, there's a lot of eyes on us and people just want attention. And that's her just trying to get attention."

Carrington, who previously wore a sweatshirt with rapper YG on the front with the lettering "The F*ck Donald Trump Tour," followed the flagrant foul with the social media post to Threads, "WHITE PRIVILEGE" in all caps, then tagged the Fever.

After Carrington was ejected, Cunningham was seen clapping in response to the announcement.

Carrington has also previously targeted Fever player Caitlin Clark, poking her in the eye during the 2024 playoffs. 

The incident comes as Cunningham has become the center of backlash from left-wing players and coaches in the WNBA after she defended her position that men should not play in women's sports. Cunningham has said that she does not harbor hatred towards those that are transgender, but that it is "common sense" to keep male players out of women's sports.  

"I want to protect young girls in a locker room, or young girls in sport who shouldn't have to go against biological men," she said in an interview.
