During one of his latest concerts, Bruce Springsteen, known for his opposition to President Donald Trump, used a teleprompter to read off his talking points against the president as well as Telsa founder Elon Musk.

Springsteen claimed during his May 24 concert in Boston, "The richest men in America have abandoned the world's poorest children to death and disease through the dismantling of USAID. This is no longer on the front page, but children die every day, and this is happening now."

"We are undermining NATO and the world order that kept us safe and in global peace for 80 years. Our museums are being told to whitewash American history of any unpleasant or inconvenient facts, like the full history of the brutality of slavery," Springsteen read.

He then called Trump a "snow flake" and said that he "can't handle the truth." Additionally, he then slammed Trump over January 6. The singer has been a consistent critic of Trump since he first ran for president in 2016. During his presidential campaign in 2016, Springsteen called Trump a "moron" and said that he was bringing “white nationalism and the alt-right movement" into mainstream politics.

The reference to cutting USAID appeared to be a jab at Musk for his efforts at the Department of Government Effeciency to make cuts to the agency in charge of foreign aid from the US to other countries. Huge cuts to the program were made, and the agency had been funding Black Lives Matter, DEI initiatives abroad, and other programs. In March 2025, Secretary of State Marco Rubio said that 83 percent of all programs that were being run by USAID were canceled.
