Martin wants Biden in the race so Harris will stay on the ticket in the upcoming election.
A California Democrat delegate said during an interview that black women would "blow up" the Democrat party if a "white man" is chosen over Vice President Harris in the 2024 race. This comes after Joe Biden's dismal debate performance when he faced off against Donald Trump last week. Martin wants Biden in the race so Harris will stay on the ticket.
Areva Martin appeared on the Stephen A. Smith show when she made the comments while talking about the disastrous presidential debate performance from Biden. "You've got to build consensus and there is not consensus right now."
"If you pick a white man over Kamala Harris—black women, I tell can tell you, we're gonna walk away, we're gonna blow the party up," Martin added. Smith pushed back on her comments saying, "Where are you gonna walk away to Areva?"
Smith had asked Martin why she was in favor of Biden going back into the White House and she responded by saying that she wanted Biden because Harris would also be in his administration. She was adamantly against the idea of having California Governor Gavin Newsom or a different white male politician come into the picture and take Biden and Harris off the ticket.
Smith asked sarcastically if she was going to "walk away to Trump" as he argued with her proposal. She went on to say in the interview that nobody has proposed the ideal Democratic party candidate as she argued with Smith over who was going to step out to replace Biden.
"Y'all need to just stay the course. We got more black judges appointed under Joe Biden under anyone, even President Barack Obama," she added. "You don't give up on your star player in the middle of a game.”
Smith once again argued that Biden should be pulled out of the race and replaced with someone else for the 2024 election.
