Canadian economy lags behind US for fourth straight year

Should these estimates prove to be accurate, the U.S. will have outperformed Canada for a fourth straight year.

Economists are estimating the Canadian economy will lag behind the United States for the fourth straight year. This is according to Bloomberg.

According to experts, the Canadian economy is expected to expand 4.7 percent in 2021. This is up from a previous annual estimate of 4.4 percent growth in 2022 is seen at 4.1 percent.

While economists are somewhat optimistic about the Canadian economy, the vaccine rollout has seemingly proven to be a barrier, comparative to the success of the United States. Experts estimate a 4.9 percent in 2021. This has risen from a 4.1 percent estimate last month.

Furthermore, the Canadian economy is believed to have contracted by 5.4 percent in 2020, compared to a decline of 3.5 percent in the US.

Should these estimates prove to be accurate, the US will have outperformed Canada for a fourth straight year.
