China's President Xi Jinping congratulates Biden on election victory

Xi's congratulatory message highlighted the promotion of "the healthy and stable development of China-US relations."

Chinese President Xi Jinping congratulated President-elect Joe Biden on his election victory. The Chinese vice president has also congratulated Vice President-elect Kamala Harris for her role in the victory.

Xi's message highlighted the promotion of "the healthy and stable development of China-US relations."

"We hope the two sides will uphold the spirit of non-conflict, non-confrontation, mutual respect and win-win cooperation, focus on cooperation, manage differences, promote the healthy and stable development of China-US ties, and work with other countries and the international community to advance the loft cause of world peace and development," said Xi.

Leaders who have yet to congratulate Biden include Brazil's Jair Bolsonaro, Mexico's Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador, and Russia's Vladimir Putin.
