CNN chief data analyst Harry Enten said President Donald Trump’s administration is “the most influential this century” and potentially dating back “a good portion of the last century,” citing sweeping changes in tariffs, immigration, and executive action.

“Love it, like it, lump it. Trump is remaking the United States of America,” Enten said during a segment on CNN highlighting data that showed recent policy successes of the Trump administration.

Enten pointed to the sharp rise in the effective tariff rate, now at 18 percent. This is the highest level since Franklin D. Roosevelt’s administration in the 1930s and marks a dramatic increase from just 2 percent one year ago.

He also highlighted a dramatic drop in net migration to the US, which is down at least 60 percent from last year. Enten said the country is potentially on track to see net negative migration for the first time in 50 years, a stark contrast to the 2.8 million net migrants recorded in 2024.

On executive action, Enten noted that Trump has signed 180 executive orders so far this year, the most issued in a single year since the FDR administration. By comparison, President Joe Biden signed 77 in his entire first year in office.

“In my mind, Donald Trump is the most influential President of this century and probably dating back a good portion of last century,” Enten concluded after highlighting these political topics. “It truly is history-making.”
