CNN host Jake Tapper shocked pundits on social media as he slammed Vice President Kamala Harris for dodging multiple questions during her debate with President Trump on Tuesday night in Philadelphia.

Tapper noted that Harris “began the debate by punting the first question on the economy,” in which ABC’ David Muir asked the presidential hopeful “Do you believe Americans are better off than they were four years ago?”

Instead of answering the question directly, Harris said, “So, I was raised as a middle-class kid. And I am actually the only person on this stage who has a plan that is about lifting up the middle class and working people of America.”

Tapper noted, “It went on from there. Despite the economy being the number one issue facing the country, the sitting vice president generally reverted to talking points about a few of her policy proposals.”

“Even Harris allies today are saying that she needs to talk more about what she will do for Americans if elected,” Tapper said.

Tapper continued, “On the border, another vulnerable issue for Harris, she also dodged,” then played the clip of Harris being asked if she would have done anything differently from the way President Joe Biden handled border security.

Harris pivoted again and said, “So I'm the only person on this stage who has prosecuted transnational criminal organizations for the trafficking of guns, drugs, and human beings.”

Tapper commented, “That wasn't the question,” and then added that Harris had no response for a question on how to break through the stalemate in the Israel-Hamas war.

Harris weakly replied, “We need a ceasefire deal and we need the hostages out. And so we will continue to work around the clock on that,” to which Tapper responded, “Okay, but again, how?”

Conservative pundits were shocked by the liberal outlet calling out the Democratic candidate. Charlie Kirk called Tapper’s monologue, “a shocking moment of journalism.”

The full transcript of the debate was published by ABC.
