Senator Ted Cruz went public today with an accusation on Twitter against Jack Dorsey, saying that he was lying to the US Senate after been called there on a subpoena to testify.

"What @jack told the Senate, under oath, is false. I just tried to tweet the @nypost story alleging Biden’s CCP corruption. Still blocked.18 USC 1621 makes it a felony to lie under oath to the Senate," said Cruz in his tweet.

Cruz is referring to the now-viral story from the New York Post which was the first in a series of bombshells connecting the Biden family, and explicitly now presidential hopeful Joe Biden, to a series of shady international business dealings. Famously, Twitter locked the account of the NY Post itself, as well as censoring the content platform-wide.

People all over social media were quick to take up the thread and share it all over:

Cruz also took Dorsey to task during the hearings for acting like a "Democratic superpac" as a private citizen and "silencing view the contrary of your political beliefs."

Facebook, Twitter and Google have been subpoenaed by the US Senate to go in front of two different Senate committees. The first hearing has just taken place on Wednesday on schedule, before the Senate Commerce Committee.

A second hearing involving just Dorsey and Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg will occur at an undetermined later date, involving subpoenas issued by the Senate Judiciary Committee.
