Taylor Swift pouts after Golden Globes host jokes about her relationship with Travis Kelce

During his opening monologue at the Golden Globes on Sunday night, host Jo Koy poked fun at Taylor Swift and the outsized attention she receives in the media any time she attends an NFL game to support her current boyfriend, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce.
"The big difference between the Golden Globes and the NFL," Koy began. "On the Golden Globes, we have fewer camera shots of Taylor Swift. I swear, there's just more to go to here."

While the audience laughed, the camera cut to Swift, who took a sip of her drink with an unamused face.
As the crowd reacted with chuckles and smiles, the camera panned to Swift, who pursed her lips and took a drink.
"Sorry about that," Koy added, half-jokingly.
Following the event Koy was asked about the joke by Entertainment Tonight's Denny Directo.
"Aww, man, it was cute," Koy replied. "I was just saying it was cute. I was just saying it's less cutaways, that's all."
Directo suggested that Swift had reacted that way because, "maybe she was thirsty? Maybe she just needed to drink the champagne?"
Following the incident, Koy became the target of Swift's fans online, with many calling him out over the harmless joke.

"I think we can all agree that mocking Taylor Swift at an awards show is a bad idea," one user wrote. "She has a LOT of dedicated fans. If you mock her in a comedy club no one will care. Mock her at the Golden Globes and deal with the wrath of the Swifties."
Koy admitted on Good Morning America Monday morning and admitted that the joke fell "a little flat," adding that "It was a weird joke, I guess. But it was more on the NFL…I was trying to make fun of the NFL using cutaways and how the Globes didn’t have to do that. So it was more of a jab toward the NFL. But it just didn’t come out that way.”
Swift previously addressed the media's tendency to focus on her at NFL games during her "person of the year" interview with Time Magazine.
"I don't know how they know what suite I'm in," she said. "There's a camera, like, a half-mile away, and you don't know where it is, and you have no idea when the camera is putting you in the broadcast, so I don't know if I'm being shown 17 times or once."
"I'm just there to support Travis," she added. "I have no awareness of if I'm being shown too much and pissing off a few dads, Brads, and Chads."
