The Daily Wire's Matt Walsh had a packed-house for a speaking event near St. Louis University on Wednesday despite multiple event venues caving to the leftist mob and cancelling the event just hours before.

A group of pro-abortion and trans-rights protesters blocked an intersection outside the Coronado Hotel near St. Louis Univeristy and refused to engage in debate when Walsh approached them. The Coronado Hotel agreed to hold the event on Wednesday after St. Louis University and a nearby church refused to host the conservative commentator.

"Queer lives, they matter here, black lives, they matter here, trans lives, they matter here," the protesters shouted at the intersection of Lindell Blvd. and North Spring Ave. in St. Louis.

The protest was organized by an unaffiliated student-led group called "B!llikens For Reproductive Justice" and were there "to demonstrate that Matt Walsh and the bigotry he represents are not welcome on this campus," according to an Instagram post.

Despite challenges, the event hosted by Young America's Foundation and St. Louis University College Republicans ended a success with standing ovations and standing-room only for the political commentator and best-selling children's author.

"We were disappointed the protesters didn't want to engage in a real conversation with Matt and YAF, instead they hurled insults and screamed silly slogans. True intellectual debate is a cornerstone of college campuses, and YAF is proud to be the organization bringing these important speakers to vital campuses," YAF spokesperson Kara Zupkus told Fox News.

A protester and spokesperson for a group called "SLU Sluts" told Fox News that Walsh isn't welcomed on campus because he came to "shame, belittle, and degrade students for living their adult lives."

"I supported this protest because I felt like it showed solidarity to the people that Matt was working so desperately to disrespect. They deserve security and confidence in the school they go to, just like anyone else," the spokesperson said.

Nick Baker, the president of the SLU College Republicans, spoke against the protesters actions and told Fox News that blocking the intersection "is a disruption to the community and we believe that a better way of expressing their views would have been to come to their event and engage in conversation with the speaker."
