Daunte Wright reportedly crippled his childhood friend, robbed others during his lifetime

While Kim Potter was convicted on Thursday with manslaughter over his death, people are asking how and why police officers pulled over 20-year-old Daunte Wright in the first place.

In a Daily Mail exclusive, the outlet acquired extensive background information as well as interviews with victims of Daunte Wright. Four people who were: robbed, beaten, and traumatized at some point in their lives due to Wright’s actions and behaviors.

Here’s each of Wright’s victims and their stories about how Daunte derailed each of them:

• Jennifer LeMay: (May 14th 2019) Not much is said about the initial incident that Jennifer’s son Caleb suffered. Caleb and Daunte were purportedly friends, until that day at the gas station where Wright "discharged a firearm toward Caleb striking him with a single shot bulled in the heard causing serious disabling, and permanent injuries." Caleb Livingston was left crippled and wheelchair-bound over the incident. He can’t even talk and has limited limb movement.
• "CV": (December 2019) An anonymous woman who calls herself CV as it stands for "crime victim."  Her story is the aggravated robbery charge that Daunte Wright was scheduled to face trial for, before his death. CV and her roommate invited someone named Emajay Driver over on the night of November 30th, 2019. Driver brought along Daunte Wright, the pair were friends. The four of them hung out all night, but eventually Driver and Wright caught wind that CV was due to pay her rent. So the two men hung out until the next morning when they could rob CV of her $800 USD in wrent money. Daunte Wright held CV at gunpoint. He said the following to CV: "I know you have the money, give me the f**king money, we know you have the money, that is what we are here for." After that, Wright choked her and both he and Driver fled after trying to rob her. CV has since spent time in therapy working through the traumatizing experience.
• Julian Manjo: (January 30th 2017) When Daunte Wright was 17, he played basketball with Manjo’s son. But they weren’t totally friendly. One day Daunte showed up to Manjo’s house, rang the doorbell several times, and the father ignored him. But Wright made his way inside through Manjo’s bathroom window. The father tried to confront him but: "Daunte ran back into the bathroom slamming the door shut behind and crawled back out of the bathroom window," Manjo said. "I caught up with him and told him, I know who you are and I'm reporting you to the police." Daunte was charged with felony first degree burglary and spent time in a mental health center over the episode.
• Joshua Hodges: (March 21st 2021) a lawsuit alleges that Daunte Wright and "an accomplice" shot Hodges while trying to steal his car. The place where he was shot – the lower left leg – hit a major artery that caused significant bleeding, a fracture, and a lengthy hospital stay. Daunte Wright and his partner in crime managed to steal Joshua’s car and other valuables after assaulting him.

In the case of LeMay’s son, it was left wide open and police never resolved it. She doesn’t believe what happened was an accident. The fact that Daunte Wright will never face full accountability for his criminal actions is a pattern for nearly all the victims.

Only in Julian Manjo’s situation does the victim think that Daunte Wright’s death resolved the spiritual wounds.
