Democrat Rochester Mayor faces child endangerment and firearms related charges

Lovely Warren is also accused of felony campaign finance fraud charges, and recently lost in last month’s primary elections to her Democrat challenger.

Rochester’s Mayor Lovely Warren is facing a new round of felony charges today related to firearms and child endangerment, following a police raid at her house back in May of this year that led to the arrest of her husband in what was a cocaine distribution ring.

He’s also facing these newest charges. Warren previously denied knowledge about her husband’s (Timothy Granison’s) activities.

According to Democrat & Chronicle the charges against Democrat Mayor Lovely Warren stem from the May 2021 raid at her house. On that occasion her husband Timothy Granison was arrested on three charges related to drugs and firearms.

While separated from her husband, Mayor Warren still lived with him and their ten-year-old daughter. The Daily Wire at the time said that the couple’s daughter was the only one at the time of the house search.

On Monday, Monroe County District Attorney Sandra Doorley announced charges against Warren.

"Both are charged with criminal possession of a firearm, a felony, and two counts each of endangering the welfare of a child and failure to lock/secure firearms in a dwelling, both misdemeanors," Democrat & Chronicle says, citing the district attorney’s office.

It was late last year (as well as earlier this year) that Black Lives Matter activists rioted in the city in response to the Rochester Police Department’s handling of Daniel Prude. The 41-year-old black man ran naked in the streets and had to be restrained. He died of asphyxiation in the process.

The Rochester police chief and his command staff had resigned late last year in large part because of how Mayor Lovely Warren mishandled the Daniel Prude situation.

A probe back in March confirmed Mayor Warren misled the general public with regards to the matter.

It’s noted that Lovely Warren lost her re-election bid last month to the Democrat primary challenger, Malik Evans. Given that New York statute says that if an elected official is convicted of a felony they’re removed from office immediately, and Mayor Warren faces separate charges on two counts of felony campaign finance fraud?

The voter turnout against her reflected the situation.
