The Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) has terminated 113 federal contracts totaling $4.7 billion, including funding for climate change initiatives in Peru and gender equity programs in Mexico.

In a post on X, DOGE stated, "[Tuesday] agencies terminated 113 wasteful contracts with a ceiling value of $4.7B and savings of $3.3B, including a $145K USDA consulting contract for ‘Peru climate change activities.'”

The Elon Musk-led team also announced that the Department of Labor canceled $577 million in what it described as “America Last” grants, amounting to $237 million in savings. Among the eliminated programs was $10 million allocated for "gender equity in the Mexican workplace," $12.2 million for "worker empowerment in South America," and $6.25 million for "improving respect for workers' rights in agricultural supply chains" in Honduras, Guatemala, and El Salvador.

Additional canceled grants included $5 million for promoting women in the workplace in West Africa, $4.3 million for assisting foreign migrant workers in Malaysia, and $3 million for fostering safe and inclusive work environments in Lesotho.

Musk’s team claimed it has saved Americans $130 billion so far, estimating a reduction of $807.45 in government waste per taxpayer. Speaking on behalf of DOGE in an interview with Fox News on Thursday, Musk called the department’s efforts a “revolution.

"This is a revolution, and I think it might be the biggest revolution in the government since the original revolution," Musk said. He added that his team is cutting $4 billion in wasteful spending daily and said the goal of eliminating $1 trillion in federal expenses is “quite achievable."
